See what I¡¯m talking about?

One Draenei¡¯s Junk . . . picks up a revealed card with cost 1, 2, or 3 (too bad, Scorch!). Again, it costs 2 resources to complete, and the card you¡¯re looking for has to be in the top three of your deck. That¡¯s where comparisons to the old cycle of quests stop. One Draenei¡¯s Junk . . . is an entirely different beast simply because it keys off cost.

In the past, in order to use cards like Kibler¡¯s Exotic Pets or Zapped Giants effectively, one had to stack the deck with at least half of the desired card type. Even then, one had about a 1 in 5 chance of whiffing completely. On the other hand, it¡¯s hypothetically possible to load up a deck using One Draenei¡¯s Junk with nothing but 1s, 2s, and 3s . . . meaning that the only way you can miss is if you hit quest, quest, quest (sad face).

In such a deck, it¡¯s more likely that One Draenei¡¯s Junk would essentially become ¡°Look at the top three cards of your deck and put one in your hand.¡± We¡¯ve seen a similar effect on Eagle Eye (a powerful card in its own right), but a player can¡¯t play that card as a resource and still get its effect.

The question that remains is whether a deck totally stacked with 1-, 2-, and 3-cost cards can be viable. I believe the answer is yes. With the recent trend toward uber-efficient low drops, I can imagine a curve that tops off at 3.

What about the rest? Some expensive abilities and equipment might get weeded out, but there¡¯s a great deal of powerful, low-cost stuff remaining. The brutal Perdition¡¯s Blade and recently spoiled Dragon¡¯s Breath come to mind.

Of course, a more middle-of-the-road strategy can still pay dividends with One Draenei¡¯s Junk . . .. Probability is still on your side even if you happen to run the stray Chain Lightning or Skullflame Shield here or there.
